One thing I have really appreciated working on the ArtMedDx team is learning just how many famous artist's have depicted medical subjects in their artworks, thanks to the efforts of many scholars we continue learning more about how to increase our or observational skills when dissecting works of art. This exhibit has two famous examples of neuroanatomy depicted by Michelangelo.

The Creation of Adam - Michelangelo

Michelangelo’s Separation of Light from Darkness (1512) crowns the Sistine Chapel ceiling above the altar and depicts the first moment of Creation from Genesis. Within an architectural frame, God’s arms sweep upwards, physically pushing light and darkness apart. The background is stark and minimal, and God’s form is surrounded by four muscular, decorative male figures, ignudi, who sit on the frame.
